Free PDF Text Reader for easy PDF to text conversion. Fast and easy to use interface that supports opening of PDF files for saving as text files. Also supports printing of the text, copy to clipboard, page selection, and viewing of PDF info tags. No third-party software is needed. It functions well enough with PDF files that are only text, but when we tested it on files such as e-books that included photographs or calendars with notes, it often had problems, up to and including failing to recognize the file or the graphic elements. Tables were converted, but the end result was often unrecognizable. The program's output can be viewed and saved as separate pages or as a whole. On the whole, we might recommend the download to computer users working with very simple PDF documents, but anyone trying to extract the entirety of e-books or other complicated files should probably look elsewhere.
